We are hiring an Activities Coordinator to assist with The Clip ‘n Climb and Birthday Parties. The Activities Coordinator will be in charge of the organization, sales, and operation of the facility’s clip ‘n climb and birthday party bookings. As an Activities Coordinator at Horizons Edge Sports Campus, this position also acts as manager on duty supervising the successful operation of events and tournaments. This position will work closely with the public to book parties and grow sales within the climbing area, as well as other internal departments.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- The overall development, promotion, sale, and execution of the clip ‘n climb attraction and birthday parties within facility
- Greet guests and complete check-in procedures, process payments, and provide quality customer service to members, volunteers, and participants over the phone and in person.
- Hire, train, manage, and motivate staff to create safe and enjoyable birthday and climbing experiences.
- Responsible for overseeing, staffing, gathering of supplies, and execution of all programs and events within department.
- Actively participate in other operational functions as necessary including, but not limited to event setup and execution, attending all scheduled events and meetings, assisting other departments during outside or special events, etc.
- Booking into facility management software as well as using various technological modes to communicate such as email, phone, and online chat.
- Maintain good public relations with all guests of the facility. Be able to communicate verbally with participants and provide instruction.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Desire and ability to work with children and adults in a sport and recreation environment.
- Must show proficiency with all climbing equipment and procedures; must possess capability to assist climbers experiencing fear, distress, or other discomfort calmly and encouragingly.
- Must be 18 or older.
- At least one year of college or equivalent work experience
- Must be willing to work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Must possess current CPR/First Aid certifications or be willing to obtain them within the first 30 days of employment.
- Experience in climbing or adventure course management preferred.
- Previous customer service, event management, or retail experience preferred.
